📱 Flashing an MTK (MediaTek) smartphone is a slightly technical process, but if you follow the correct steps carefully, it can be completed safely and easily.
📦 Before starting the flashing process, make sure you have downloaded and installed all the required files on your computer.
ℹ️ This is a simple and complete guide to flash an MTK (MediaTek) smartphone or keypad device. This method works on most MediaTek MT65xx, MT67xx, MT68xx, and MT69xx chipset devices.
🔧 Requirements
💻 Windows PC
To flash an MTK phone, you must have a stable Windows PC because flashing tools only work properly on computers. Rewriting system files is not possible without a PC.
📱 To flash an MTK (MediaTek) smartphone correctly, you need some essential requirements. If even one of these is missing, the flashing process may fail or the phone may become dead.
🖥️ 1. Hardware Requirements
Hardware requirements include a good-quality USB cable and a desktop or laptop PC to ensure stable data transfer during flashing. Additionally, the phone battery must be properly charged.
- 💻 Windows PC or Laptop: Flashing is always performed using a computer.
- 🔌 Original USB Cable: Use a good-quality data cable to avoid connection issues.
- 🔋 Phone Battery: Battery level should be at least 50%–70% before flashing.
⚠️ Make sure to carefully check the list below before starting:

⚙️ Step 1: Install MTK USB Drivers
First, install the correct USB drivers on your computer so that the PC can properly detect your mobile device. Without drivers, the flashing tool will not be able to communicate with the phone.
- ⬇️ Extract the MTK USB Driver package
- ▶️ Run DriverInstall.exe
- 🔄 Restart your PC
⚠️ Driver installation is mandatory; otherwise, the PC will not detect the device.
🛠 Step 2: Open SP Flash Tool
Extract SP Flash Tool and run it in Administrator mode to ensure all permissions are granted. This tool is used to transfer firmware files directly to the phone’s hardware.

Always verify tool settings and select only Download Only or Firmware Upgrade mode. Choosing the wrong option may erase IMEI or baseband information.

- 🔴 Power OFF the phone
- 🔘 Connect the phone to the PC (remove battery if removable)
- ☎️ For keypad phones, hold the correct key combination (0, *, #)

- 🚀 Flashing process will start
⏳ Step 5: Wait & Finish
🔌 Do not disconnect your mobile phone during flashing.
Do not disconnect the phone until you see the green Download OK message. After flashing, the first boot may take 5–10 minutes.

- 🔌 Disconnect the phone
- 🔘 Power ON the device
