Spice SPD (Spreadtrum) chipset feature phones require specific Boot Keys and procedures to establish a connection between the device and your PC for firmware flashing.

When a phone is in Boot Mode, the computer can communicate with the internal storage to rewrite the software.

🔑 Common Spice SPD Boot Keys

Since these are keypad phones, the boot key is usually one of the following. You must press and hold the key before inserting the USB cable:

📌 Center Menu Button – Most common boot key for Spice SPD models
📞 Call Button (Green Key) – Often used in older M-series models
✳️ Asterisk (*) or Hash (#) – Used as dedicated boot triggers on some models
🔊 Volume Keys – Rare, but available on hybrid keypad models

📂 Load Firmware: Open ResearchDownload, click the ⚙️ Gear icon, select the .pac file
▶️ Start Flash: Click the Start (Play) button
🔌 Connect Device:
- Power off the phone
- Remove & reinsert the battery
- Press and hold the Boot Key
- Connect USB cable to PC
📊 Monitor Progress: Progress bar turns blue/green once detected
✅ Success: Wait for Passed message before disconnecting
